Tipsy Elves was founded in 2011 by Evan Mendelsohn and Nick Morton after the pair identified a gap in the market for new ugly Christmas sweaters, launching the company while they were still working as a lawyer and endodontist. The brand grew rapidly, selling thousands of sweaters in its early years before appearing on ABC’s Shark Tank in December 2013, where Robert Herjavec invested $100,000 for a 10% stake.

By 2015, Tipsy Elves was expanding beyond its original Christmas focus into seasonal categories including Halloween, Thanksgiving, and St. Patrick’s Day. This officially licensed Casper sweater belongs to that early expansion period and documents the brand’s move from its original ugly-Christmas-sweater concept into licensed, character-based seasonal apparel.
